Troubleshooting and Support

Power Cycling Your System

One of the first things we recommend for most issues, is simply to "Power Cycle" your system. Follow the steps below to give your system the needed reset:

1. Turn your lights ON. Leave your Bridge connected to the router and powered on.

2. "Unplug" ALL the power supplies.

     a. If you have smart outlets, go ahead and turn them all OFF.

     b. You may need to open the breaker to power off the power supplies in some cases).

3. If any lights are still on after you've "unplugged" the power supplies, one was missed and still needs to be "unplugged"

4. Once you've confirmed all lights are off, plug the power supplies back in. The lights on the building should flash blue

5. After the power cycle, please the lights in Pure White, Pure Red, Pure Green, Pure Blue (this is easiest to do in the RGB sliders).

Lights Not Turning On

There are three reasons only some of your lights would come on:

  1. Something was wired incorrectly. Double check all your connections. If your lights were previously working, you can rule this out.
  2. The length of lights is setup incorrectly in the app. To check this, go to Settings > Zones. The length is displayed at the bottom of each zone, if you have more than one, make sure all zones show footage. The length of lights in the settings is all that will illuminate. For example, if you have it set for 10 feet, only the first 10 feet of lights will work, no matter how many actual feet your lights are. Adjust this to match the amount of lights you have.
  3. A light has gone bad. This could either be the first light that is not working or the last light that is working. Light ME Up recommends replacing the light before and after the bad light (3 total).

Lights Display the Wrong Color

Each LED has 3 pixels inside, a red, green, and blue. If one of these pixels stops working properly you will not get the right color when mixing the brightness of the pixels. Turn your lights to white full brightness to identify if this is the issue. You will need to be outside to view your lights for this test.

  • Take photos and note the lights that are having issues. Contact Light ME Up to schedule a service to repair the lights.
  • If the lights start to fade at white full brightness (white to yellow) then this could indicate your system is not getting enough power. Ensure all power supplies are on/unplugged in.
  • If problems persist or are unable to be correct, please contact us to schedule a service.

Random Lights Turning On

If you notice random lights turning on by themselves there is a data issue in the lights somewhere. Even though the lights are off, they are always receiving power and a continuous data signal telling them to be off. So if you see random lights turning on, it is one of two issues:

  1. Your wireless receiver is not working properly. Connect to the receiver via the app and ensure proper function. Next to the zone(s) it will show "Connected" in green. If you are having troubles with the receiver, contact Light ME Up, they might be able to simple remote in and help you diagnosis the issue.
  2. There is a light somewhere that has gone bad and is not sending the off message to the lights downstream from it. To identify this light turn on your lights to a solid pattern. Wherever the proper pattern stops displaying is your problem. Contact Light ME Up to schedule a service.
  3. If you do not have time to troubleshoot at the moment but want the lights to turn off, simple power off all your power supplies.

Lights Stuck On When Scheduled Off

There are a couple possible scenarios that could cause your lights to be ON when they are scheduled to be OFF

  1. The power supply connected to your wireless receiver is off. Confirm that your smart outlet is "ON"
  2. The data is getting stuck somewhere on your light strand, called Latching. This can prevent some of your lights from receiving the "OFF" signal from your wireless receiver. This can be resolved by a simple power cycle as mentioned above.

Unresponsive Bridge

Here are a few things to check if you send commands to your lights, but they are no changing.

  1. Check the lights displayed on the front of the Bridge. If you do not have any lights on, but the Bridge is connected, the EverLights logo should appear blue. If you have tried to turn on your lights, the sequence colors you selected should be showing in the logo. Is the display of your Bridge following the sequence you selected? If yes, let's check the signal to the zone. (step 2)
  2. To check if your bridge is sending a signal to the zone, check for a paired zone in your app; Settings > Zones. If it is paired correctly, it will show your zone(s) with "Connected" in green. If there is no "Connected" and you only see a yellow "On" your Wireless Receiver is not communicating. Call Light ME Up to schedule a service.
  3. If your Bridge is displaying the correct sequence behind the logo, has the green word "Connected" under the zone settings, but your problem persists it is time to power cycle the system again, but this time power cycle the Bridge. Unplug your Bridge from power and ethernet cords, and all Power Supplies for your lights. Wait a few minutes before you plug everything back in, plug your Bridge first to ethernet and then power. Allow your Bridge to fully power back on before you attempt to control the lights, this may take several minutes.
  4. If your Bridge still does not appear to be controlling your lights, contact Light ME Up to schedule a service.

Bridge Colors

The Bridge is programed to display certain colors depending on that status of the Bridge. These colors have the following meanings:

  • Twinkling Blue - Bridge is in normal idle, connected to the internet and all is well
  • Fading Yellow - Bridge is connected to the Local Network, but can't reach the internet
  • Chasing Green - Bridge is in pairing mode
  • Twinkling Red - Bridge is booting up
  • Fading Red - Bridge is unable to connect to the Local Network
  • Red - Bridge is updating
  • Chasing Yellow - Bridge is downloading and installing updates
